Verde Island Day Trips
Verde Island is popularly regarded as being the Scuba Diving highlight of Puerto Galera. Located right in the center of the Verde Island Passage , its popularity is owed to its clear waters and renowned biodiversity of marine life. The area is famous among scuba divers and snorkelers worldwide; especially sites like the Verde Island Drop-Off.
During the one hour outrigger boat ride to Verde Island you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Mindoro coastline and maybe even see some dolphins frolicking in the channel. It’s typically a full day out, and lunch is provided, but make sure to pack your towels, sunglasses and sun lotion!
Please note: Strong currents may be encountered at Verde Island, and it is recommended for divers with Advanced Open Water Qualifications or above.

The morning is spent exploring "The Drop -Off" - one of the Philippines most famous dive sites. The area is home to an astounding quantity of tiny Orange Anthias that feed in the nutrient rich currents. Diving along the wall, keep your eyes peeled for Giant Frog Fish, Eels of all varieties, Nudibranchs of every size shape and colur, and witness the soft Xenia Corals filtering the water for drifting plankton.
When you get to the outer edge of the pinnacle you are likely to find schools of Tuna, Wide-Mouth Mackeral, and Jacks drifting in the currents. On the reef you can encounter Hawksbill Turtles, Sweetlips, and an astonishing variety and quantity of colorful critters of all shapes and sizes, as well as Giant Sea Fans up to 3 meters wide! You should always keep you eyes peeled out into the blue, as Whale Sharks are known to make occasional appearances here!

After an exciting and tiring morning of such incredible diving, guests can enjoy a mouthwatering BBQ lunch on Verde Island featuring many local dishes including grilled fish and meat and fresh local fruits.
